1. The GR6 and GR63: Legendary Trails on Our Doorstep
The famous Sentiers de Grande Randonnée (GR) cross directly through our area, offering world-class hiking right from the estate.
- The GR6 (The Gardon Gorges Section): This trail follows the crests of the canyon between Sanilhac and Collias. Walking along the cliffs, you will overlook the emerald waters of the river below. It is wild, beautifully rocky, and gives you a front-row seat to spot the rare Bonelli’s eagles nesting in the cliffs.
- The GR63: Connecting Avignon to the Cévennes, this path goes through Uzès and the surrounding plains. It is a gentler route, perfect for walking through ancient olive groves, oak forests, and vineyards.
2. The GR700 – Regordane Way (Chemin de Régordane): A Journey Through History

3. The Hermitage : A Hidden Medieval Jewel
For a hike filled with history and mystery, this loop is an absolute must-do.
- The Route: Starting near Collias or Poulx, the trail drops down into the deepest part of the gorges. Hidden at the bottom of the canyon lies the Hermitage, a troglodytic chapel built directly into the cliffside dating back to the Middle Ages.
- Points of Interest: Beside the historic chapel, you will pass the Grotte de la Baume, a massive cave that provided shelter to prehistoric humans. It is a shady, refreshing hike, highly appreciated during the warmer spring and summer days.
4. The Roman Aqueduct Trail: Hiking through History
Most tourists only see the Pont du Gard from the classic viewpoints, but hikers know that the 50-kilometer Roman aqueduct leaves incredible traces throughout the forest between Uzès and Vers-Pont-du-Gard.
